SA National Parks Week
National Parks Week is a very popular week, held annually. Since its inception in 2006, participating parks have seen an influx of day visitors.
SANParks says the week helps to cultivate a sense of pride in South Africa’s natural, cultural and historical heritage as protected and preserved by the national parks system. It has also proven to be a successful campaign that provides education and awareness about the country’s inclusive approach to conservation.
Experience South Africa’s rich natural and cultural heritage
The managers at the organization say while offering an opportunity to experience South Africa’s rich natural and cultural heritage, attention is also drawn to the sustainable development practices made possible through partnerships with key role players like communities living adjacent to national parks, businesses, scientists and tourists.
Exclusions from National Parks Week
Some parks are not included in the free offering.
PLEASE NOTE:
Only South Africans qualify for free entry to most of the parks. You must also present your ID at the gate.
