Eskom says all of its employees, who have participated in the recent nationwide strike, have returned to work leading to a significant improvement in performance and generation capacity.
This improvement has prompted the reduction in loadshedding from stage 5 to stage 4 today.
Spokesperson Sikonathi Mantshantsha says technicians were also able to return seven generation units to service.
Audio PlayerMantshantsha says a further 600MW of capacity, from the hydroelectric scheme at the Cahora Bassa dam in Mozambique, has been added to the national grid.
