Eskom: Additional electricity generation capacity would contribute towards ending load-shedding in S.A.

Published on

Eskom says any additional electricity generation capacity will help take the pressure off the national grid, which will add to the country’s electricity security.

The utility yesterday welcomed the news that the National Energy Regulator of South Africa concurred with the ministerial determination, for the procurement of additional generation infrastructure.

The determination says that 11,813 MW of electricity generation infrastructure should be me available toward the end of 2030, as part of the country’s Integrated Resources Plan of 2019.

Eskom spokesperson Sikonathi Mantshantsha says the additional electricity supply would contribute towards ending loadshedding in South Africa.
