In complete contrast to last season, Arsenal moved back to the top of the English Premier League (EPL) table after taking down Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool 3-2 at the Emirates.

Was it the 2021/22 season, or even any season in the past decade, the result would be sure to go just one way – and that’s with the men from Merseyside coming away with the full haul of points.
However, in just his second full season in charge Mikel Arteta has this Gunners team playing a dangerous, vintage style of Football. his plans, philosophy, and influence has finally stuck with the broader team.
Arteta even won over the outspoken Piers Morgan. Morgan is a Gunner and regularly called for the Manager to be sacked. However, after the full-time whistle at the Emirates on Sunday evening, the TV personality apologised.
“Dear @m8arteta – I hereby formally declare trust in your process. You’ve built a thrilling team full of energy, pace, power, commitment and ferocious will-to-win,” Morgan wrote on Twitter.
Arsenal rising from the ashes
The former Arsenal player inherited a broken team. A team stuck in limbo and searching for a new identity following the Arsene Wenger years.
While they won the FA Cup and Community Shield a handful of times since finishing second in the EPL in the 2015/16 season, they have failed to end as high as fourth for the past six seasons. Going with that stat is the fact that they haven’t featured in the Champions League since 2016/17.
Now, Arsenal leads the way after passing a massive test against the Reds.
“There were a lot of moments, and at any moment they (Liverpool) can open you up with the players they have,” said the Arsenal Manager after beating Liverpool in their EPL encounter.
“I think they were very efficient to take the chances they had, but I think we had a lot of composure and character in moments to overcome them and especially with the way we played in the second half.”
Arsenal’s next major test in the English Premier League will arrive on 6 November 2022, when they travel to Stamford Bridge to face Chelsea. Their next match will be at the Aspmyra Stadion in Bodø, Norway, for their UEFA Europa League group A match against Bodø/Glimpt.
