Plan the perfect last-minute Easter getaway

This might not be the best time to book an international flight. But that’s okay when you have beauty and splendor on your doorstep!

The Garden Route

This 300-kilometre stretch travels the coastline of the province. This region is also famous for its diverse flora and fauna and endless activities. These include hiking, surfing and zip-lining. You can find charming little towns along the way like Plettenberg Bay and Knysna where weary travellers enjoy coffee, cake and calamari.

Take in the lush forests, glittering beaches and rising hills. The weather is cooler and mild during April, making the Garden Route a must-see during Easter.

Museums

Not in the mood to drive out? Take a short left into your closest museum, and learn more about your history or city. On certain days of the week, you may even enter for free! In Cape Town, enjoy a walk through the Iziko Museum – which includes the Planetarium – and a total must-see.

Then visit the District Six Museum. It honours the memory of District Six, a community that was destroyed by the Apartheid Nationalist Government in the 1960s. Explore maps, photos and other artifacts of this colourful neighbourhood.
