CSA Award Nominees revealed!

Published on

Cricket South Africa (CSA) has released the shortlist of South African cricketers up for awards following a spectacular 2021/22 season.

It was the first season where things returned to somewhat of normality following the Covid-19 pandemic. Rudimentary crowds were also allowed to return to our glorious stadia. The fans who came out to support were treated to some spectacular cricket, as players were keen to delight.

2021/22 also brought about a change to domestic cricket in South Africa. CSA dropped the franchise set-up, and they implemented a proper provincial system with two divisions.

Both first and second divisions saw teams compete in the CSA T20 Knockout Competition, the CSA Four-Day Series and the CSA One-Day Domestic Cup.

Now comes the time to celebrate the stand-out performers, who will hopefully carry their form into the 2022/23 season.

“It is with great honour and privilege to congratulate all the nominees for the 2021/22 CSA Award”, said CSA Chief Executive Officer, Pholesti Moseki.

“This is the time where we celebrate the achievements of our Men and Women and the platforms that have nurtured the talent to ensure our stars can grow and excel in the game.

“Our teams have really shown to be amongst the best in the world of cricket. Through these prestigious awards, CSA wishes to honour and celebrate every single individual who has been the heart-beat of making this season the resounding success it was.”

The virtual award ceremony will be held on Sunday, 14 August 2022 at 19h00 and broadcast on SuperSport Cricket (Channel 212).
