Consumer confidence reachest all time low in over 3 decades

Consumer confidence is at its lowest point in over 3 decades, which could lead to a significant slowdown in consumer spending. The FNB/BER Consumer Confidence Index has slipped to minus 25 in the second quarter, from minus 13 in the first quarter. This amid rising inflation and a struggling economy. FNB Chief Economist Mamello Matikincangwenya says consumers have been pummeled by price shocks.
