Cape Town: localised-flooding, heavy showers and electricity outages

Almost 20 Western Cape healthcare facilities have been affected by heavy rain and strong winds. A Health Department statement states, that some facilities were closed temporarily yesterday, while others offered limited services. Among the facilities affected was the Bishop Lavis Community Day Centre, which was closed due to flooding.

Teaching was also affected at some schools. Director of Communications at the WCED, Bronagh Hammond says at least 10 schools had requested early closure or people were un-able to access the buildings as a result of flooding.
