The Proteas won’t play a single match in Cape Town or Durban in the 2022/23 season. Two of the grounds where the national cricket team is most passionately supported.
Bloemfontein’s Manguang Oval will see two consecutive ODIs against England, on 27 and 29 January. The three-match ODI series will wrap in Kimberley at the start of February.
The men from the West Indies will arrive in South Africa after England’s departure. That series will feature a three matches at SuperSport Park in Centurion. That includes a Test and two T20Is.
Wanderers in Johannesburg will see a Test and a T20 during the Windies tour. Buffalo Park in East London will host two ODI’s. The final ODI in their series of three to be hosted at the JB Marks Oval in Potchefstroom.
The Proteas’ season at home will conclude with two ODIs against the Netherlands. Willowmoore Park in Benoni will host the first and the Wanderers the second.
Disappointed the Proteas won’t be playing England in Cape Town but then again, England do have a better record at Newlands than at any other ground in the world 😂

CSA Back in Business
We can only speculate as to why the Proteas will remain mainly in Central South Africa, however Cricket South Africa CEO Pholetsi Moseki said that the list of fixtures confirmed that cricket in the country is “indeed open for business”.
“South Africa is fast becoming the home soul for international cricket,” said Moseke.
“CSA is thrilled to be hosting England, West Indies and the Netherlands, all worthy opponents, in what is billed to be an exciting summer of international cricket.
“This is principally good news to our fans, who have been starved of the blend of cricket on offer at stadiums since the 2020 pandemic. As we look forward to hosting these cricketing powerhouses, we invite our fans to swell the stadiums in numbers to support the Proteas as they lock horns with the best in the world.”
