AUSTRALIAN YACHTSMAN AND CHRIS BERTISH TEAM UP AGAINST OCEAN PLASTIC POLLUTION

The world renowned Australian yachtsman, Jon Sanders has sailed into the Mother City  to promote the Minderoo Foundation’s #NoPlasticWaste campaign alongside South African big wave surfer Chris Bertish. The Minderoo Foundation, is a global philanthropic organisation, which is committed to return the world’s oceans to a flourishing state and announced a US$300 million commitment for a new industry-focused initiative to end worldwide plastic waste at the United Nations.

The 80-year-old docked down at the V&A Waterfront after sailing around the world, where he met up with South African surfer Chris Bertish. The two are collecting water samples to determine the levels of plastic pollutants in the southern oceans.

Meeting at Cape Town’s iconic Victoria & Alfred Waterfront, Sanders and Bertish shared their experiences and highlighted the mission of Minderoo Foundation’s #NoPlasticWaste message.
