ARCTIC SUNRISE IN CAPE TOWN TO RAISE AWARENESS ABOUT OCEANS

Published on

The world famous Greenpeace vessel, the Arctic Sunrise has docked in the Mother City. The visit forms part of highlighting the dangers of over-fishing in local communities and to spread awareness around the protection of the oceans and fight against climate change.

The voyage forms part of Greenpeace’s Pole to Pole ship tour aimed at rallying support for a Global Oceans UN treaty to protect 30% of the world’s oceans by 2030. Greenpeace volunteers will be engaging with local fishermen to promote responsible fishing.

The Arctic Sunrise will be docked in the V&A Waterfront until Sunday and members of the public are welcome to visit the vessel.
