The Eastern Cape police have confirmed that Andile Andries and Lubabalo Keso were gunned down outside Andries’ home in KwaNobuhle. Whether Andries’ murder is related to a raging taxi war in the Eastern Cape or the ANC ahead of the hotly contested upcoming provincial elective conference is unknown. Besides politics, Andries was also the deputy general-secretary of the Uncedo Taxi Association nationally and a chair of the SA National Taxi Council (SANTACO) in the Nelson Mandela Bay region.
