Police Minister Bheki Cele has launched a new app to help the police fight crime in the country. The MySAPS mobile application will also help citizens to access their nearest police station.
Minister Cele said a user can report a crime without giving their name. They can also find out about police activities & other facilities in their area.
A person can also record video, audio and take photographs and send it to the app. Police officers will then be able to access it.
The South African Police Services say the app was designed to make it easier for citizens to locate and access police stations.
The MySAPS mobile application was created in partnership with mobile operator Vodacom.
