Another mass murder in Cape Town

There’s been another mass murder in Cape Town. In the latest incident 3 men in their twenties, were shot dead in a residence in Mazizini in Browns Farm, Nyanga last night, when unknown gunmen opened fire on them.

A fourth person succumbed in hospital. Meanwhile, four other people were also hospitalized with gunshot wounds. Colonel Andrè Traut says they were aged between 27 and 35 years. Police have asked people with information to come forward.

Traut explains, “Last night at around 18:20 unknown gunmen opened fire at the victims at their residence in Mazizini in Browns Farm, Nyanga, killing three on the scene, and wounding five. The injured victims were admitted to hospital where one succumbed to death.”
He said detectives attached to the Provincial Serious and Violent Crimes Unit are pursuing several leads in a bid to apprehend those responsible for the murders and attempted murders.

Officers will appreciate community assistance to expedite the investigation. The Police say the motive for the incident is yet to be determined.

This mass murder is exactly a week following another mass shooting incident, also in the Nyanga area.

 

Police members were summoned to the crime scene in Lloyd informal settlement in Govan Mbeki Road at around 21:40 on Saturday 28 April where the bodies of three men and one female in their twenties were discovered with gunshot wounds inside a shack.

 

A fifth victim was admitted to hospital, also with a gunshot wound.

 

The Provincial Serious and Violent Crimes Unit was investigating.
