Sergeant Christopher Spies says officers affiliated to the Outeniqua K9-Unit received information about illicit drug activities at a house. They then proceeded to raid the mentioned house in Zone 8 yesterday.

When police members arrived on the scene, they found that the premises had been left abandoned. They confiscated 36 550 mandrax tablets, 300-gram heroin and 532-gram tik.

Spies added, “The illicit drug trade in the Western Cape was dealt a heavy blow when police confiscated in George.”

The suspects, Kenyan nationals aged 26 and 47, were arrested. They face a charge of dealing in drugs.

“These confiscations are in line with the policing approach of this province to eradicate the illicit drug trade,” Spies added.

At the same time, Garden Route District Crime Combatting Team members also conducted crime combatting operations in Mossel Bay over the weekend.
