Elon Musk pushing ahead with AI project

Published on

Artificial Intelligence is a topic we are going to keep circling back to – like a broken record -because there is so much happening in this space.

Theunis Janse van Rensburg of Bandwidth Blog brought us some interesting news with our most recent Tech Tuesday chat around Elon Musk.

Elon enters the AI battle ring

Two of the world’s largest organizations – Microsoft and Google – have been hard at work in the AI Space. Microsoft was quick to the table and launched ChatGPT together with Open AI. This Artificial Intelligence can pretty much solve any problem: give you a recipe using the items in your fridge or write an entire business proposal.

Their next step is to incorporate this technology into their search engine Bing.

Meanwhile, Google has been scrambling to develop its own Artificial Intelligence, and they brought to the table…BARD. It’s still in development.

Is Musk actually creating an Elon AI?

A new development with AI like ChatGPT – that is incorporated into Microsoft products – is a paywall. And this doesn’t ‘sit well’ with Elon Musk.

Once a huge fan of Open AI, Musk is looking the other way after users were asked to subscribe and pay fees to use the tech. The billionaire believes AI should be open and accessible to everyone.

So what does he do? He goes and decides to work on his own Artificial Intelligence, called X.AI. Of course it is…This may seem like news to some, but Musk has been hard at work for a little while.

There are rumours floating about that Musk is starting up an AI company. With some reports saying he bought thousands of graphic processing units (GPUs) to power an upcoming generative AI product says The Verge. As we know, Elon Musk is a man of few words, yet big, massive actions.

We know now that he has a whole warehouse stocked with GPUs, and is hard at work on X.AI. I am sure we are going to hear a lot more about it, with talks to even include this new AI into ‘Elons’ Twitter’.
