DA leader John Steenhuisen calls for Parliament to immediately reconvene to discuss the several crises the country currently faces

DA leader, John Steenhuisen, has called for Parliament to immediately reconvene for MPs to discuss the several crises the country currently faces.

Steenhuisen says he has written to Speaker, Nosiviwe Mapisa-Nqakula, asking that all MPs immediately gather to discuss and find solutions to, amongst other issues, loadshedding, the fuel price crisis, and unemployment.

Steenhuisen says MPs should be meeting round the clock to find solutions to the multitude of problems the country faces.

He says South Africans have to, at this point in time, struggle on their own to overcome the challenges they face on a daily basis.

Steenhuisen says President Cyril Ramaphosa has been “missing in action” and unwilling to engage with citizens in finding solutions to loadshedding, high fuel prices, and unemployment.

He says it has been weeks since Ramaphosa addressed the nation to say what the Government is doing to assist citizens in these challenging times.
