Mayor Geordin Hill-Lewis says he hopes that the City of Cape Town taking over train services is the first of many functions the municipality will take over from national government. Finance Minister Enoch Godongwana says the study will show whether it’s viable for the City to take over rail services. The mayor says they have a plan to take over from the Passenger Rail Service.
