The Health Department has warned it may have to destroy millions of Covid-19 vaccine doses if there is not a significant uptake in vaccination before the middle of the year.

The Department is talking to countries to see if South Africa can swap jabs and give them some now, and then get some back later when South Africa runs out. Deputy Director-General, Dr Nicolas Crisp was speaking to Bhekisisa’s editor-in-chief Mia Malan during a podcast when he made the comments.
