New Level 1 rules: Rotational learning scrapped, isolation rules changed

Published on

Cabinet has announced that the rotational learning system at schools will be ended with immediate effect.

In a statement last night Cabinet said primary, secondary and special schools will return to daily attendance.

The 1 metre social distancing rule for learners has also been removed.

The country, however, remains on adjusted Level 1.

In addition to the school changes, those who test positive for Covid-19 with no symptoms do not have to isolate.

If you test positive, with symptoms, the isolation period has been reduced from 10 to seven days. Contacts do not have to isolate unless they develop symptoms.

The rationale behind the move is informed by the proportion of people with immunity to the virus, which has risen in excess of 60-80% in several zero surveys.

There was no mention of when the State of Disaster would be lifted. All other restrictions remain in place.

Cabinet has urged people to get vaccinated.
