News just in: Justice Minister Ronald Lamola withdraws challenge to halt extension of the State Capture Inquiry

Published on

Justice Minister Ronald Lamola has withdrawn his challenge to Deputy Chief Justice Raymond Zondo’s application for a three-month extension of the State Capture Inquiry – a day after he lodged it.

Lamola filed papers at the Gauteng High Court in Pretoria, to halt the application for yet another extension of the Zondo Commission into State Capture.

Lamola, in the court papers, said Deputy Chief Justice Raymond Zondo’s application for another extension is un-constitutional.

He also wanted the High Court to limit the commission’s future costs at 15-million-Rand.

The court application was due to be heard tomorrow.
