Law-enforcement authorities here have confirmed that the incident, that occurred at the Cape Town station taxi-rank earlier this morning, is not related to any looting or protests.

More than 60 people stormed the Grand Central shopping center after a shooting incident at the taxi rank.

This led to store owners locking their doors.

The SA Police Service is currently on the scene.
