Winde earlier this morning, during the weekly online digicon, said all indications are there that the Western Cape is in the early stages of a third wave.

In less than 3 weeks, there was a 60%  increase in active Covid-19 cases, from about 3-thousand to more than 5 800 active cases.

In the past 7 days, there has been an increase in new cases of more than 34%.

Winde says hospital admissions have also increased.
